Finally...an Update!

Wow! I am a really bad blogger! Sorry about that family! Just a bit of an update on our family...

Jase is 9 months old in 3 days! I can't believe how fast time has gone! He is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. He likes to pull himself up onto anything he can reach, which meant we have started childproofing our home! He has recently started getting really attached to us. He does fine with other people, but it's more when we leave the room, he will be crawling right behind us, and if he doesn't see us leave but notices he is alone, he will cry like crazy! This has gotten to be difficult. He is still an easy baby to take care of though. Jase also loves his food. He likes feeding himself his finger foods, especially now that he has his 2 bottom teeth. As you can tell he is still a big boy. I will let you all know exactly how much he weighs and how tall he is after his appointment in a couple weeks, but when we weighed him ourselves, he was over 21 pounds. That's alright though, because I am getting super buff. Yeah right! Well, I know there are lots of things that I am leaving out about Jase, but maybe you can see what he has been up to in the pictures that I am attaching!

Kyle has been doing awesome at his job. He had his performance review a couple of weeks ago and it went really well. He was told that everybody really liked him and his work. They gave him such a good review that he was given the full bonus, and a little raise on top of that! Plus, they told him that they are going to try to get him promoted as soon as possible. I always knew that he was a good worker, but it is always nice to be recognized and rewarded for the job he does. At home, he is starting on a little project that he has been thinking about for a long time. It's pretty time consuming, but I can tell how excited he gets with it. I would tell you what it is, but I don't really know how to describe it. It uses lots of magnets though. Overall, Kyle is doing awesome in everything. He is an amazing husband and awesome daddy! Jase lights up and gets so excited when Kyle comes home from work.

I am still here at home, but this is where I love to be. My day is filled with bottles, changing diapers, Gerbers, naps, and cleaning. It's great. I have been trying to work out more and eat better to get into shape again. So far, in 2 months I have lost about 5 pounds! I even signed Kyle and myself up to run a 5K at the end of the month. I don't think I will run it super fast, but I hope it will inspire me to continue running and hopefully just get better and better. Other than that, not much has changed with me. I love being a wife and mom. It is so fun and rewarding.

Well, here are some random pictures. There are a lot, so I hope you like them! Love you all!

So I guess it is my turn. Steph has been primarily carrying the load when it comes to keeping family and friends up to date with our lives. I need to do better...so to all those people who deserve a phone call, letter, or a hello this is my first attempt to get caught up. Hello to everyone, since we are now living in Topeka, KS we miss and love so many of you we don't see as often as we would like at the moment. We send you our very best and wish we could be near especially as we approach the holidays when we long to be with familiar faces most.

As for us...a lot has changed in our lives...new job, new location, new baby boy, and a very new adjustment to life after college. Lately I feel like we have just been trying to keep up with life and not let it zoom by. We are definitely keeping busy. Jasen takes up a majority of our free time now. It is crazy...he doesn't do a whole lot but we can just watch him for hours it seems. He is a beautiful happy boy and he continues to be healthy which we are grateful for. As you may have seen from pictures he is a big boy. He jumped up the charts recently at his four month doctor appointment. He is now in the 90 percentile for weight and the 67 percentile for height up from the low teens. We were a little worried with his genetics he might not get a whole lot taller ;) but his stats are looking more promising.

I'm am very new at blogging so I am not sure what else to say and a little uncomfortable talking about us so much. I guess for those of you who check in every once in a while I just want to say hello, let you know we are all doing fine, and hope this message finds you all doing great as well.

I threw in a few pictures from our latest events/activities...

Our little pumpkin

Jasen on our trek through the corn maze - he started out strong but was asleep about half way in as mom and dad got lost...guess it was a good thing he slept through mom and dad getting frustrated and cheating their way through the end

We don't have a rocking chair at home...tried this one out but I don't think it will fit in our place

JASEN LANE HAIR

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since we had Jasen. It definitely has been busier around here, but while he is sleeping, I thought I would write something to let you all know how we are doing and share the joy and happiness that Kyle and I feel with our new little addition!

Jase was born Sunday, July 4, 2010. Kyle predicted this would happen because he thought I would freak out with all of the fireworks going off and then he would have to rush me to the hospital. Well, I started to feel contractions at around midnight, so there weren't even fireworks at that time...Kyle was partially right. Anyways, I wasn't sure if they were contractions because I hadn't felt any during my pregnancy. They were about 5 minutes apart and so I called Mom and then Michelle to ask them if what I was feeling were contractions. I then called the hospital and they told me to go in and they would check me there. They said if they weren't contractions, then they would just send me home. I went in around 2am. They set me all up and checked if I was dilated. I was to 2cm. On Wednesday, I wasn't dilated at all, so I was pretty excited. They checked me for a few hours and I dilated only to 3 cm, and they told me if I wanted to go home, then I could. I said I was in too much pain, and how would I know when to come back if I was still contracting. So we decided to stay. Good thing because Jasen came at 12:11pm. Everything went very smoothly, especially after I got the epidural. Kyle was so sweet the whole time, and although there wasn't much he could do, he helped me out in every way he could. Here are some pictures from the hospital.

I hope everybody got their baby announcement already, but here are the pictures Kyle took of Jase when he was almost 3 weeks old.

Here are some other random pics.

Kyle and Jase love snuggling together. Kyle helps out tons when he gets home from work and calls it Daddy/Son time. He will feed him, change his diapers, bathe him, and cuddle with him as much as he can. Jase loves baths too. We love giving them to him just to watch him splash around and kick his little legs everywhere. We also got the "Born in 2010" shirt from Kyle's aunt and uncle and we thought it was very appropriate because he was a 4th of July baby! I also like to play with his hair. I am not a fan of mohawks, but on little baby boys I think they are cute, so every now and then I will put them in his hair. Kyle called it a rhino's horn. Haha! He is such a happy boy. We are able to make him smile a lot now, and I am working on making him laugh. The only time he giggles is when he is sleeping. Makes me wonder what he is dreaming about.

When he was born, he weighed 7lbs. 3oz. and measured 19in. At his one month check-up, he weighed 9lbs. 5oz. and measured 20.5in. He sure is getting big. He doesn't fit into some of the newborn clothes anymore. It's crazy to see the difference one month makes, and now he will be 2 months very soon, and still is getting so much bigger. He has his 2 month appointment next week. I am excited to see the difference, but nervous because they are going to give him a lot of shots! We'll see how that goes.

I will try to post more often and let you all know how we are doing. Thank you to everyone who have given us presents and helped us out throughout the pregnancy and even up to now. We are so appreciative and love you soo much. We are so excited to see some of you next week when you come out for the baby blessing. LOVE YOU!!!!

Sarah's Visit/Michael Buble Concert

So this past week, my sister, Sarah, was able to come visit us! I was especially excited becuase it can get really boring all by myself here at home while Kyle is working. I loved the company! We had a lot of fun, well, at least I did...and I hope Sarah did too! When she was here, we went to catch fireflies, barbecued, and we even got to go to the Michael Buble concert in Kansas City, MO. Tons of fun! Kyle and I had been looking into it for a while, but we never decided on it. Since Sarah was here, it was a good excuse to finally buy tickets. We bought them the day of the concert and of course got the cheapest tickets, but it was sooo good and he is really funny! We really enjoyed it. Sorry that the pictures are not the best. We don't have an incredibly awesome camera...people have phones with better cameras on them than ours. haha! But here are some pictures and videos of the concert.

All 3 of us waiting for the concert to start!

Kyle and Me. He actually bought the tickets without us knowing! He's the best!

You can tell how far up we were in this picture, because you can see the wall behind us! There were only 2 rows above us. It was awesome!

As you can see, I had to zoom in as far as our camera would let me, and I could still barely get him on the big screens above!

Michael Buble Concert - EVERYTHING

This was the only video that would upload, so I will try and remember to put up the others once I can. Thanks again for coming to visit Sarah. It was so nice to have some company! Love you!
