Trip to Utah/Kansas Storm

A couple weeks ago, we went to Utah for our friend, Spencer's wedding. It was kind of last minute and super short, but it was nice to go and celebrate this day with him. Here are just a few pictures of that day.

Scott, Spencer, and Kyle - all 3 finally married!

Kyle and I with the Groom, Spencer

We were so happy we got to see Libby! Missed her!

Kyle wanted to play photographer and take a few pics of me...so here's one.

And of course, we had to take a picture together!

It was nice to go back, and we wish we could have stayed longer, but "there's no place like home." (Oh no! I guess Kansas is getting to me)

Speaking of Kansas, here is a video Kyle took one night when we had a thunderstorm. It's storm/tornado season here, but this storm was pretty crazy. The lighting looked like a strobe light, and we only got the end of the storm, the beginning was much louder and harder. It was really cool!

Just Another Pregnancy Update!

Well, here are some more pictures to let you all know how I have been growing. I am now 32 weeks, and I think I'm feeling pretty good, except for the pain I get in my ribs. I don't really like that. They feel bruised and it makes moving in certain ways difficult. Kyle feels bad seeing me like this, but he is being so sweet and helping me out in every way he can. I can handle it though. I can't believe there are only 8 more weeks until my due date. It has gone by pretty fast for me, but I just hope we can get everything we need ready in time for the baby's arrival. He is moving a lot, and these movements are much stronger than they used to be, but he is going to be one strong and active kid. I hope so, because that will get me moving and getting back into shape!

A few weeks ago, I had to take a glucose test thing, where they gave me a really sweet orange drink, and then an hour later, they drew my blood. I was one point over what my doctor allowed, so she made me take it again, except the 3-hour test this time. I procrastinated because I don't feel anything was wrong, but I finally went today and boy did I not like that! First off, I had to fast, and asking me whether I am pregnant or not, to not eat is sooo difficult! Then, they drew my blood first and after that gave me another orange drink. For the next 3 hours, I had to go get my blood drawn again every hour. So, I had a needle stuck in my arm 4 times today! My arms are starting to bruise and swell a little bit, but I will look super tough! Well, I think so! Anyways, just thought I'd update you on the pregnancy! I wish my family was here, but I can't wait to see you all soon after the baby comes! Here are the pics!

Kyle's Birthday Weekend!

Kyle's birthday was on Monday, and he just turned 28! He at first didn't want to have his birthday, and kept saying he was going to give the next three to me so that I could catch up to him. Well, because of this I wanted to make it special for him and I think we were able to make that happen. We were not planning on having it be celebrated over the whole weekend, but he kept saying he felt like the whole weekend was for him. So this is what happened.

Friday - We grilled up some delicious steak! It was sooo good! We also had some yummy grilled pineapple, homemade potatoes, and some asparagus! Kyle couldn't stop talking about how amazing it all was! His steak was the best I ever tasted! Here are some pics.

The final presentation! Kyle always makes it look pretty on the plate!

Saturaday - Early in the morning we woke up and felt good. We had breakfast, Kyle finally got a hair cut, and then we had a primary activity we went to help with. Before the whole thing started, Kyle played Duck, Duck, Goose with the kids, so that is what the picture is of. Later that day we just got some things done around the house. Cleaning doesn't sound like fun, but Kyle was really happy to get it done!

Sunday - I woke Kyle up with a pancake breakfast! I would have made it on his actual birthday, but he leaves really early in the morning on Mondays (around 6am), so I decided to do it before church. Then we just went to church and had a relaxing day!

Monday - His actual birthday! Kyle had to go to work because Mondays are crazy busy for him. But when he came home, I had made a banner so he could see it right when he walked in the door. I went and bought him a couple of shirts (one didn't fit him correctly so we had to exchange it), and he loved Iron Man, so I bought him the first movie. All he wanted was to go see the 2nd movie, but it doesn't come out until May 7th, so I thought I would refresh his memory with the first and get him more pumped up to see the second. I also made him a cake. We saw it made on a show, and he thought it looked so good, so I found the recipe online and made it from scratch. The cake turned out well, the frosting...not so much! So I was very happy that I had a backup frosting that I bought from the store. I also bought him his favorite Cold Stone Ice Cream in a quart size. Here are some pictures of that day.

I made this super quick, I would have made it better and not stuck it up with moving tape, but Kyle was almost home! I think it still turned out pretty good!

The Birthday Boy!

His cake, he thought it was going to start a fire with 28 candles on it! Haha!

He is wearing the shirt I bought him that actually fits!

Here is Kyle making a wish and blowing out his candles!

Tuesday - Kyle went to lunch with his department, including his manager and director. They went to eat Thai food and he liked it a lot. His manager paid for him, and they made him a cake!

Wednesday - We went to the mall to exchange the shirt. We ended up getting him two pairs of jeans, which is what he really needed, and they were on sale for a good deal!

So, it was a great weekend, practically a week of fun. I think he really enjoyed it. And then, next Friday we are going to Kansas City to watch Iron Man 2. We are going to watch it at a theater that also serves food during the movie, it's called Fork & Dine. He has been wanting to check it out, so it should be good. We are excited! We'll let you know how it all goes! Thanks to everybody for wishing Kyle a happy birthday! It meant a lot to him! Love you!!

My Sweet Husband

I asked Kyle if he could run to the grocery store for one thing that I forgot for dinner, and he came back about 45 minutes later with more bags. He said as he was going through the aisles, he decided he wanted to make me a nice dinner. I was so surprised and thought of how wonderful he is. So, the next night, he made dinner and it was delicious. Here are pictures of his dinner!

This was his fettuccine chicken alfredo, with caramelized onions...sooo delicious!

Then he made mini stuffed peppers, he didn't like these very much, but I thought they were good! We also had a salad and toasted bread.

And he made amazing dessert, chocolate covered strawberries! We ate so many of these, there was another plate of extras in the fridge.

The final presentation. (We were given the high chair in the corner from people in the ward, and we have nowhere else to put it...but we know we won't need it for a little while still! Haha!)

The dinner was so amazing, but I think my husband is more amazing for putting this together! He is definitely the sweetest person ever!!!

Kyle's Work Cubicle

Kyle finally got a his own area at work now!!! This is his cubicle! He has been in his new department, kids/boys, for a little while now, but he was in a temporary cube for a few weeks. Once he got into his permanent one, I went in with him on a Saturday to really deep clean it. We took rags and cleaners from home and we even took our vacuum. It was kind of funny at first because I wasn't sure if people were going to be there, but nobody was around us, so we played music on his computer and cleaned away. It was really dirty, and if you know Kyle, he would not feel comfortable and not get much work done with a filthy and dusty work area. It was actually lots of fun for me. I wish I took a before picture so we could compare it, but just picture it super yucky and unorganized.

I went back with Kyle a couple weeks later so we could make it feel more homey, and he also had a lot of work he needed to finish. Cubicles are not very nice. Everything is so dull and gray and everybody's looks the same, so we bought some blue cloth and covered the back boards for pinning papers I have no idea what it's called), and organized his binders and made them all match. I also bought him some filing folders for his drawers, some Kleenex, and hand sanitizer. The next Monday, I sent him with three picture frames that he set on one of the shelves. I wish I took pictures with those in there, but he says he likes it tons now and really likes to look over at the pictures, and he wants more. It's really fun to decorate cubicles, and it's nice to know that he feels more comfortable and is able to get his work done.

Right after we finished cleaning! Finally!!!

These are of the binders we organized. Kyle made those awesome labels. They have the Payless logo and the black binder even matches with a black label! He thinks of everything! The top shelf is where he has his pictures now, too.

This was lots of fun for us! It was a big deal!!! Now you can all see where Kyle works!
