Jase was born Sunday, July 4, 2010. Kyle predicted this would happen because he thought I would freak out with all of the fireworks going off and then he would have to rush me to the hospital. Well, I started to feel contractions at around midnight, so there weren't even fireworks at that time...Kyle was partially right. Anyways, I wasn't sure if they were contractions because I hadn't felt any during my pregnancy. They were about 5 minutes apart and so I called Mom and then Michelle to ask them if what I was feeling were contractions. I then called the hospital and they told me to go in and they would check me there. They said if they weren't contractions, then they would just send me home. I went in around 2am. They set me all up and checked if I was dilated. I was to 2cm. On Wednesday, I wasn't dilated at all, so I was pretty excited. They checked me for a few hours and I dilated only to 3 cm, and they told me if I wanted to go home, then I could. I said I was in too much pain, and how would I know when to come back if I was still contracting. So we decided to stay. Good thing because Jasen came at 12:11pm. Everything went very smoothly, especially after I got the epidural. Kyle was so sweet the whole time, and although there wasn't much he could do, he helped me out in every way he could. Here are some pictures from the hospital.
I hope everybody got their baby announcement already, but here are the pictures Kyle took of Jase when he was almost 3 weeks old.
Here are some other random pics.Kyle and Jase love snuggling together. Kyle helps out tons when he gets home from work and calls it Daddy/Son time. He will feed him, change his diapers, bathe him, and cuddle with him as much as he can. Jase loves baths too. We love giving them to him just to watch him splash around and kick his little legs everywhere. We also got the "Born in 2010" shirt from Kyle's aunt and uncle and we thought it was very appropriate because he was a 4th of July baby! I also like to play with his hair. I am not a fan of mohawks, but on little baby boys I think they are cute, so every now and then I will put them in his hair. Kyle called it a rhino's horn. Haha! He is such a happy boy. We are able to make him smile a lot now, and I am working on making him laugh. The only time he giggles is when he is sleeping. Makes me wonder what he is dreaming about.
When he was born, he weighed 7lbs. 3oz. and measured 19in. At his one month check-up, he weighed 9lbs. 5oz. and measured 20.5in. He sure is getting big. He doesn't fit into some of the newborn clothes anymore. It's crazy to see the difference one month makes, and now he will be 2 months very soon, and still is getting so much bigger. He has his 2 month appointment next week. I am excited to see the difference, but nervous because they are going to give him a lot of shots! We'll see how that goes.
I will try to post more often and let you all know how we are doing. Thank you to everyone who have given us presents and helped us out throughout the pregnancy and even up to now. We are so appreciative and love you soo much. We are so excited to see some of you next week when you come out for the baby blessing. LOVE YOU!!!!
